Now serving in Steamboat Springs and South-east Denver, CO! Welcome!

I know the process of finding the right therapist can be very challenging. Below are a series of questions to help you figure out if working together is a good fit for you and your child.

Does this describe you?

Are you unsure of how to help your child with their challenging behaviors? Would you like an expert to help you, your child, and your family find a practical approach that consistently works?

Are you looking for a therapist whose approach is more direct, fast, fun, and produces more reliable results than the traditional talk therapist? Have parenting books failed to help?

Would you like techniques to help you cope with feeling overwhelmed and unable to handle your child?

Are you looking for help with your parenting, coping skills for your child, and help with more effective and loving ways of speaking to one another?

Does this describe your child?

Does your child suddenly become angry and/or seem out of control? Are they resorting to temper tantrums to get their needs met?

Do they become overwhelmed and unable to talk about their feelings? Or are they guarded and unwilling to open up?

Do they seem sad, unmotivated, or isolated?

Are they no longer their old self? Are you worried things are getting worse?

My Approach

I work with kids, adolescents, couples, and families who need practical, straightforward help with creating and sustaining healthy behaviors and improving family relationships. I have over 20 years of experience working with children and teens. I helped many of those children with adjustment disorders, anxiety disorders, disruptive/impulse-control/conduct disorders, mood disorders, neuro-developmental disorders, grief, and trauma.

I take a solution-focused family-therapy approach so that I can solve the primary problem as quickly as possible. My goal is always to have clients discharged as quick as possible. Some clients stay for a few weeks and some stay for a few seasons, but clients do not stay for more than a year. In order to get your child on track as quickly as possible, I assign homework that is easy to complete and is necessary to your child’s development. With this approach, you will see changes each week.
